Participatory event: mural painting in the Qaitbey area

In November 2024, Egyptian artists Iman al-Benna and Omar Gabr created, in a collaborative creative event in which the local children participated, a huge mural painting in the Desert of the Mamluks neighbourhood in the “City of the Dead” close to the complex of Sultan al-Ashraf Qaitbey. Tagged “#save the planet” and “#futures security”, the 18-metres long mural playfully addresses the issues of natural environment.

Paints for the mural paintings were generously donated by the SIPES – Universal for Building Materials & Chemicals company

Social and cultural activities at the MASQ are carried out by ARCHiNOS and its sister not-for profit organisation the Sultan Foundation and are financed primarily by the European Union.
